About Richard J Lee

I build the systems that turn organizational mission into sustainable partnership revenue. That has been the consistent focus of my career, whether I was managing a portfolio of 100+ institutional partners at International Justice Mission (IJM), building an entire advancement infrastructure from scratch at the Asian American Christian Collaborative, or designing global engagement operations that span 20+ countries and 14 time zones.My approach is specific: I design tiered partnership strategies, build the operational tools that make cultivation and stewardship repeatable, and train teams to execute at scale. At IJM, that approach grew institutional partner revenue 156%, from roughly $1.5M to $2.4M over four years. At AACC, it meant creating a donor database, gift processing system, and fundraising program from zero and growing annual revenue 400% in 18 months.Before all of this, I was a math major at Columbia who became a pastor, then a campus director, then a nonprofit fundraiser. The path was not linear, but it gave me something unusual: deep experience with institutional relationship-building, public communication, team leadership, and the kind of mission-driven organizational culture where I do my best work.I’m currently exploring senior leadership roles in strategic partnerships, development, and public engagement within the nonprofit and social impact space.
