Our mission is to foster collaboration across the sector and accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Through this role, I help drive WFO’s vision of positioning offshore wind as one of the world\'s leading sources of sustainable energy, as well as carrying out fiduciary duties for the company.

ABOUT RICHARD SANDFORD
I am a senior leader in the energy sector with approaching 40 years of experience in various forms of electricity generation, including thermal, CHP, and renewables. My main focus and passion, since 2008 is renewables, particularly offshore wind where I have successfully led large and diverse global portfolios of Offshore Wind Projects, from development, through construction and commercial operations. I have a track record of winning competitive auctions, securing consents, closing finances, and overseeing construction and operation of offshore wind farms. From RWE, to leading bp\'s global offshore wind business and now CDO at JERA Nex bp. As a committed advocate for offshore wind, I have been actively involved in shaping and advancing the industry for many years. Alongside the UK Secretary of State for Energy, I Co-Chaired the Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC), and I’m Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO). I am proud to be a recognised, long-term leader in this exciting and dynamic sector that is transforming the energy landscape.
