ABOUT RICHARD HAYTON
I’m a technical guy who can think in PowerPoint. I joined Trustonic in 2016 because I could see the potential behind having a secure operating system and strong device identity on every smart device – and more importantly because they’d already done the hard work of getting this technology in place on 2 billion phones and other devices. My work at Trustonic ranges from the very low level – securing $1 microcontrollers – to broad business needs: protecting the assets of some of the world’s largest carriers, enabling the ‘un-financeable’ to own phones or providing digital car keys or mobile identity. My passion in understanding problems, finding the best ‘real world’ solution, and motivating, inspiring, cajoling and (where necessary) coding to get the problem fixed. I get as much of a kick out of diagnosing and fixing a customer problem in the field as in presenting a demo to a keynote audience. I like to invent – I hold 34 patents – I love to code – and I love help others understand how new technical ideas can solve business problems. Before Trustonic I spent much of my career in Citrix, working in Labs, creating and driving Citrix Receiver and helping form and grow the Mobility Group. My PhD was in Distributed Security. I’ve written distributed object platforms from scratch, really early mobile App Development platforms (Symbian / J2ME / IE 4), distributed policy and management systems and the first ever corporate app store (Windows / HTML5).My technical expertise are in software architecture, security/identity, large scale distributed system and embedded platforms. I also code - a lot. However my real skills are in my ability to inspire teams, and to be multi-lingual – In that I can talk technology to C-level executives or business strategy to C++ coders.Google ‘richard hayton’ plus any of these terms to learn more: citrix, receiver, dazzle, xenmobile, flexinet, oasis, trustonic, holograms, kinibi.
