I like helping people. It’s a genuine thrill. Usually that’s helping people create better presentations and avoiding death by PowerPoint. I love to consider the ways that complex ideas and concepts can be conveyed elegantly using visuals - whether using animations to create dynamic, explainer videos, or flat infographics. Combining effective visual representation of an idea with a clear narrative description, you can truly open your audience\'s eyes to something they\'ve never considered before, which is not only very powerful in B2B communications, but also opens up dialog and discussion that is, frankly, thoroughly enjoyable. Luckily my role focuses on helping people craft persuasive presentation stories and then translating them into visuals that support and engaging experience for the audience.I often get to share these ideas with thousands of people at conferences around the world. Honestly, the single biggest delight is seeing and hearing people\'s reactions to the new things they\'re seeing, and how it will change their presentation practices for the better.As a result of all this sharing, I’ve been awarded a Microsoft MVP for PowerPoint and get to interact with the development team, understand their approach, and help shape the future direction. I find the entire process fascinating, especially for a tool that is so widely used, in many different ways.I\'m so fortunate to work with wonderful people at events, with our clients, and with my fabulous team, with whom I get to geek out the most. Not only delving into the depths of PowerPoint, but also LEGO, which many of us thoroughly enjoy. One day, I will make the PowerPoint logo in LEGO form. I\'ve already made the BrightCarbon unicorn and wizard out of it!I once made a Christmas card in PowerPoint, as you do, with over animations on a single slide. I wouldn’t recommend it, but I enjoyed doing it and would like to try something similar again one day.
