I lead a national team of design specialists guiding the National Trust’s 550+ places through complex, place-based change.Our focus: unlocking more public benefit - through smarter, more strategic design. From historic houses and gardens to rural estates, coastal landscapes and urban greenspace, we work across scales and sectors to help each place do more - for people, for nature, and for the future.A core part of my role is brokering design solutions that hold both nature recovery and cultural heritage at their centre. And at the human scale, I champion equitable access to our most iconic sites.Key Achievements- Lead expert design and assurance support across 150+ properties annually - delivering tailored, high-impact advice at scale- Designed and delivered the annual Advisory Group programme - bringing fresh insight and strategic challenge to national priorities- Created and rolled out targeted internal training on design thinking and landscape strategy, including Experience Design, Designing People into Landscape Places, Woodland Design at the Landscape Scale
