Experience

  1. Associate Director of Development, Usda

    The Great Basin Institute

Apr 2022 — Present · Reno, NV, US

As a leader in conservation project management, I oversee a $135 million portfolio spanning multi-million-dollar projects across three USFS regions and 18 National Forests. My role combines strategic oversight and hands-on project management, ensuring that complex projects stay on-time, on-budget, and within scope from inception to completion.I’m passionate about driving results through partner collaboration and transparent communication. I provide executive leadership and external stakeholders with crucial updates, strategic plans, and financial reports that support innovative conservation initiatives. Building strong relationships with both national and regional stakeholders has been essential in advancing projects that align with biodiversity and sustainability goals.Leveraging formal project management methodologies, I have led multidisciplinary teams, set goals, defined deliverables, and managed timelines with a focus on adaptability and accountability. During my time at GBI I have had to directly supervise a five member team and indirectly support a field team of over 100, driving accountability and performance across all program areas through systems thinking. In my current role, I also manage strategic partnerships, working with federal agencies, non-profits, and other key partners to negotiate agreements that align with our shared conservation objectives. Through strategic financial planning, I oversee a $10+ million annual budget, consistently meeting financial targets while ensuring audit compliance. In addition, I lead operational improvements by gathering partner feedback, using it to inform project planning and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that drive our conservation goals forward.
