ABOUT RICH DRON
As an experienced proven academic and leader of business technology programmes, having held strategic roles within Business Schools, I am targeting progression into senior leadership roles, having a track record of driving innovation, leading diverse teams, and delivering exceptional student experiences in dynamic, fast-paced environments. I am drawn to roles which value fostering inclusivity where my skills in developing industry-engaged, technology-enhanced learning will extend impact and reach.I am currently focussing on Research as a Senior Lecturer in Business Information Systems at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. I was a Programme Leader for the Business Technology Programme, leading it to its most successful metrics in relation to progression, continuation, completion, Graduate outcomes and student satisfaction.I have over eight years of experience in HE, developing, delivering, and leading undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in business technology and digital business. My mission is to enhance the student experience, promote the department, faculty, and university, and seek knowledge transfer and business engagement opportunities that generate knowledge, income, share best practice, and improve graduate employability. As a researcher my focus is Digital Environments. I consider co-construction of identity, understanding, narratives and realities in business and technology contexts and how digital enables organisations, groups and stakeholders within their contexts to shape their identities. I specialise in examination the methods, vernacular, rhetorical devices they employ, as well as the themes, sentiment and discourse of their construction through digital and its affordances. Furthermore, I apply these methods to cross-disciplinary research which consider societal, cultural, and political studies that align with Area Studies and International Relations. I consult in relation to enabling change and strategic shaping of digital environments within business and societal contexts.I have published multiple papers and articles on topics such as business IT trends, strategy as practice, and disruptive technologies, and received awards and honors for my research and teaching excellence. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Certified Management & Business Educator, and also have a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice. I have skills in technology management, enabling organisational innovation, foreign languages, and I am always eager to learn new things and explore challenges.
