I work across data management, helping organisations build the foundations needed to trust and use their data effectively.My career began in software engineering at IBM, before moving into data management, where I’ve spent the past decade designing and delivering practical data capabilities across financial services, consulting, and the public sector.My work has focused on areas including:Metadata, data governance, and associated artefacts such as business glossariesMaster and reference data strategy and implementationDAMA-aligned data governance frameworksData architecture and modelling to support analytics platformsImproving data quality, ownership, and organisational data literacyI’ve supported transformation programmes across organisations including HSBC, abrdn, and the British Business Bank, and previously worked as a consultant with Informatica delivering governance and metadata initiatives for organisations such as Unilever, Generali, FMO (the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank), and Bank of Ireland. My work typically combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.I’m particularly motivated by helping organisations create the structures, language, and practices that allow teams to collaborate around data more effectively.Outside work, I’m a Mountain Leader (ML) and fell runner, and enjoy spending time in the hills whenever possible.
