About Richard Bezold

With a focus for more than 35 years on commercial real estate law, Rich has represented clients in the acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sales of office buildings, medical facilities, shopping centers, senior living facilities, multifamily, industrial, and hotel properties. He has served as the lead real estate attorney on numerous national corporate merger and acquisition transactions including those in the automobile, hospitality, rental car, security, and solid waste industries. His client work has included representing REITS, investment funds, family offices, lenders, investors and end users in numerous real estate transactions. His prior work includes representing clients in the acquisition and divestiture of commercial properties for investment and end-user purposes, commercial landlord and tenant representation, public-private partnerships, infrastructure development, distressed loan and property workouts, and analysis of hazardous material contamination for the acquisition, operation, and clean-up of real property. From 2008 until 2018, Rich served as the Chair of Akerman\'s national Real Estate Practice Group and has also served as the advisory board chairman to the Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Florida. Rich is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Real Estate and has been recognized by both Chambers USA and The Legal 500 as one of the leading real estate lawyers in Florida.
