About Richard Allen R.
My philosophy is constructed on the values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. Together, the first letter of each word spells out the acronym LDRSHIP. This symbolizes that encompassing all of these attributes will serve as a foundation to authentic leadership. Bearing true faith in an organization, the employees, and the mission, is loyal leadership. This must always be strived for as a leader’s loyalty will be tested throughout his or her career. Duty encompasses the ability to do your job and do your job well. Duty means being able to do the job at the lowest level, even if you work in corporate. Utilizing respect is a core component of leadership. Respect is not only “treating others as you want to be treated,” but also recognizing the differences and worth of all individuals within an organization. Selfless service refers to always placing the organization and employees first. Without the organization or employees, there would be no need for leadership. Having honor means acknowledging when your organization and employees are doing something right. This can be accomplished by rewarding the entirety of the organization or a single individuals’ efforts. As a leader, integrity should be at the forefront. This means taking the fall when things are not going very well while owning up to mistakes. After all, the leader is the face of an organization, so blame will be established. It is better to just own up to it by utilizing integrity. Finally, personal courage is the ability to speak up for change within an organization. Times may be tough, but utilizing the personal courage to keep moving forward can motivate others around you within an organization. When applying these values, this philosophy incorporates a “mission first and people always” decision-based mentality. The leadership within must coexist with the vision of the organization while enhancing the subordinate personnel. By doing so, decisions are made by the people, for the people, in order to strengthen the organization.I am a servant leader who is an experienced Military Police soldier with a demonstrated history of working in the military and public safety industries.
