After a career in product innovation and consulting, I went on to co-found BackPedal - a disruptor in InsurTech. After briefly bootstrapping part time to modest revenues, I helped secure angel funds and went full time. Subsequently BackPedal has achieved 20 consecutive months of ~15% MOM growth (and counting).BackPedal has a simple but genuinely disruptive model which turns the traditional theft insurance on its head. We efficiently and safely recover the stolen assets. Our current market focus is bike’s and e-bikes. The significant cost difference between an insurance payout (traditional approach) vs asset recovery cost (BackPedal approach) opens enormous untapped value, not just for us, but for our insurance partners and customers. Added to that - we are proving a truly scalable solution to bike theft.As co-founder I wear many hats - operations, partnerships, sales, hardware. But my passion is in all areas of strategic innovation - I really enjoy finding areas of high leverage, where select innovations can achieve dramatically outsized impact.
