About Richard Stratton

Our focus on new generation coating-based solutions for insulation combines problem solving with engineered solutions and reliance on industry acceptance through proven performance and personal references. A benefit of working with problem solvers is meeting creative and dedicated individuals who I characterize as \"go to people\" within their industries. They\'re the vital \"early adopters\" of new technologies who are driven to seek solutions and stick their necks out to resolve problems. We seek problems and work with technologies that only a handful of people initially recognize as beneficial. Fortunately, that works well for us and we meet many smart people in the process. Also fortunate is insulation coating transitioning from \"bleeding edge\" to a leading edge, proven solution for corrosion under insulation, condensation control, solar-based heat load reduction as well as stand-alone and hybrid insulation solutions. Introducing new technology has been a personal interest since Ken Uchikura and I licensed US software products, published Japanese versions and sold them through newly developed distribution channels.

Production, distribution and support of thermal insulation and protective coatings for marine, food processing, refiner and building envelope markets. The thin thermal insulation coating replaces or complements conventional insulation materials on applications up to 425F/210C. The 1mm to 2mm/40 to 80 mils thick ceramic insulation coating retains heat, greatly reduces surface temperatures and eliminates corrosion under insulation, allows visual inspection and ensures long term performance at a lower cost. Energy savings on food cooking equipment and steam lines runs at 25% with return on investment (ROI) from 35 to 150 days (16 hours of operation per day) subject to rebates that are provided by California Energy Commission (CEC) via PG & E or SoCal Gas for applications on saturated steam-based equipment, tanks, building envelopes, cooking equipment and other surfaces. Other applications show 40 mils/1mm eliminates 1 of 3 AC units on buildings based on blocking solar heat loading on exposed surfaces. Ships operating in Alaska use 1.5mm/60 mils to control condensation on interior surfaces. Other ships use ceramic insulation coating to block solar heat loading on interior surfaces of outside-exposed metal plate.
