HS2 involves building 140 miles of route, four new stations and two major depots. But contrary to popular belief, it\'s not all about speed. The high speed is part of the solution to providing significant additional north-south capacity to relieve the West Coast main line. By providing this additional capacity, it will improve the reliability and quality of service for passengers, and free up capacity on the West Coast line for freight. As part of the team of over people building the railway, I am responsible for over 40 expert estimators and data analysts. We work with the delivery, commercial, project controls, finance and procurement teams to support the execution of their work. My team and I work with our stakeholders, such as P-rep, IPA, Dft and Treasury. We ensure they have clear, transparent, honest and robust information upon which to make recommendations and take decisions for the best use of public money.This is an incredible project, of almost unimaginable scale. It will provide benefits for generations. I\'m incredibly proud to be part of it.
