ABOUT RICHARD PEARSE

With 30 years of experience in the teaching profession, I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to inspire and nurture children and colleagues through life-long learning experiences. I am a forward thinking, adaptable and dedicated person who enjoys challenge and I take great pride in ensuring that my teams progress and gain success. From the wide range of schools and communities that I have worked in, worldwide, I have gained an understanding of people and have well developed empathy, which allows me to make certain that everybody meets their potential. These skills also enable me to be able to resolve difficult situations and conflicts in order to achieve the best outcomes for our community. As Principal I was responsible for the effective management of the school, financial procedures and for the leadership of outstanding teaching and learning. Churchend Primary Academy at the time, was a centre of excellence that promoted the best possible outcomes for all children. Our Year 6 outcomes were consistently high, with the average achievement in the combined score of Reading, Writing and Mathematics (RWM) being 76% over 3 years, compared to the National Average of 64%. In the most recent year, 2019, our Year 6 attainment combined score of RWM was 81%, compared to the National Average of 64%.
