From 1995 through 2024, Richard had senior executive leadership roles of up to employees, in the US and UK, including 15 years as US public company CFO, chief strategy officer and head of UK customer services for 3 million customers. Led several critical functions, including Finance, Corporate Strategy, IT and Procurement.Richard was Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Radius Recycling (re-branded from Schnitzer Steel) from 2007 to 2022, before moving a dedicated role as Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer. Richard retired from Radius Recycling in July 2024.During 2018, Richard was an independent board director of Clearwater Paper Corporation (NYSE: CLW) and sat on both the Audit Committee and Nominating & Governance Committee.Prior to joining Radius Recycling in 2007, Richard was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of PacifiCorp, from 2002 to 2006, the multi-state western U.S. energy utility, now owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. group (NYSE: BRK.A).Before re-locating to the U.S in 2002, Richard held senior roles with Scottish Power plc (FTSE listed), the international energy utility, including Group Controller and Head of UK Customer Services. Prior to joining ScottishPower in 1995, Richard was a Senior Manager with Coopers & Lybrand, the international accounting firm.Richard is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, has completed Strategic CFO and Business Leadership programs at Wharton School of Business and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from Glasgow College of Technology. Richard is a citizen of both the United States and the United Kingdom.
