I work in commercial construction and development, focused on building projects and organizations that last.My experience sits in the part of the industry where ideas become land, land becomes drawings, and drawings become buildings. It requires an understanding of risk, capital, timing, permitting, and coordination, along with the execution needed to bring the physical work to life.A large part of my role involves improving how decisions get made and how information moves. I spend time tightening processes, strengthening communication between the field and the office, and ensuring the fundamentals are solid before pursuing growth. I care a lot about how work gets done and how the organization holds itself under pressure.Lately my attention has been pulled further upstream into planning, development, and long range positioning. It has been a shift from managing tasks to managing outcomes, from building things to building the conditions that allow projects to exist in the first place.I enjoy that responsibility. It feels like the real work.
