ABOUT RICHARD OCONNOR
I am a law enforcement professional with over 34 years of organizational and leadership experience. During my tenure I have effectively served in several facets of police work. I was a Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Tampa Police Department, Juvenile Justice, and Parole and Probation for nearly 10 years. Also, I served as a district latent investigator and then a homicide Detective, responsible for several complex and high profile investigations. I was hand selected to supervise a pilot squad assigned to the US Marshal Service. I was instrumental in the formation of the administrative and operational function of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit. I am currently Captain of Patrol for Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. I believe in leading with mutual respect and earning the respect of the people that you work with at all levels. I have truly been blessed in both work and my family life.
