Experience
Director of Personal Development & Engagement
Feb 2025 — Present · Oakland, CA, US
I am a transformational leader, speaker, and coach dedicated to empowering individuals through personal development, leadership training, and reentry support. As the Director of Personal Development & Engagement at CROP Organization, I design and lead programs that foster growth, resilience, and career readiness for justice-impacted individuals. My work focuses on leadership coaching, workforce development, and policy advocacy—ensuring that those reentering society have the tools, support, and opportunities to succeed. With a deep commitment to equity and second chances, I train and mentor leaders, oversee CROP’s personal development initiatives, and engage with policymakers to advocate for systemic change. I’ve led over 125 legislative visits at the California State Capitol, spoken at public safety hearings, and worked directly with government agencies and corporate partners to expand fair chance hiring and housing opportunities.Beyond policy, I spearhead transformational coaching programs inside and outside correctional facilities, including CROP’s Leadership4Life and Ready4Life programs, equipping individuals with mindset shifts and practical skills for long-term success. I also co-lead alumni engagement efforts, ensuring continued support and career pathways for program graduates. My work is driven by lived experience—I am formerly incarcerated, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management while inside, and secured my release at my first parole hearing after serving 21 years of incarceration. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others break barriers, redefine their futures, and access career opportunities that create generational change. If you’re passionate about leadership, reentry, workforce development, or policy change, let’s connect. I’m always open to partnerships that advance equity, opportunity, and transformation.
