About Richard Mazzarino

Richard is a seasoned veteran of spot lot infill real estate development and home building. His construction career began while in high school at the age of 16 with a premier custom home builder in central Maryland and his early experience included hands-on roles as a garbage hand, general run around, framer, and tile layer. At just 19, Richard made a significant leap into real estate development by successfully purchasing and flipping a dilapidated row home in Baltimore. In 2006, he completed his education at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland College Park, where he earned a bachelor\'s degree in finance. Concurrently, he gained invaluable experience interning at the commercial real estate brokerage Marcus & Millichap, working in both their Washington DC and Newport Beach offices. Upon graduation, Richard relocated to Houston and founded Mazzarino Construction & Development, a boutique builder/developer specializing in spot lot infill residences within Houston\'s close-in neighborhoods. In 2009, he formed a strategic partnership with Jonathan Antao through the merging of their two small companies. Under Richard\'s leadership, Mazzarino Construction & Development has emerged as one of Houston\'s foremost small lot infill new construction builders with sales nearing $50 million in 2023 and projections to exceed $60 million in 2024. In 2023, Mazzarino Construction & Development was the recipient of the Greater Houston Builders Association’s coveted Custom Builder of the Year award which is awarded to the Association’s exemplary builder for the year with under 100 home deliveries.

   In the summer of 2010 Blue Water Homes and The Mazzarino Group came together to form Mazzarino Construction & Development. Since the formation of the new company, Mazzarino Construction & Development has built on our founders individual reputations to become one of Houston\'s most well known and reputable urban builders. Since 2010 we have built and sold over $275m worth of homes in Houston. Our primary development focus is on patio and single family homes inside Houston\'s highly desirable \"inner loop\" neighborhoods priced from to $2m+. Not satisfied with middle of the road standards that guide so many builders; we work countless hours hand in hand with our designers, engineers, decorators, and realtors to make sure that each project we build is innovative, unique, and functional to fit your urban lifestyle. Our craftsmanship and attention to detail has come to define us as a leader our industry, and we look forward to moving you into one of our new homes.
