ABOUT RICHARD MARDON
I am the Head of Development at Statkraft covering grid services, onshore wind and solar for the UK. I have more than 30 years’ experience in developing, financing and building power and infrastructure projects around the world, having worked and/or lived in more than 10 countries.I have been in this position since August 2019 following Statkraft\'s acquisition of Airvolution Clean Energy which I co-founded in 2017 which was the successor to Airvolution Energy where I was the CEO since 2011.In my roles with Airvolution Energy I oversaw the organisation as it went through the identification, development, financing and construction of 11 onshore wind projects in six years in England, Wales and Scotland. The projects are now owned by Capital Dynamics (10 no.) and Foresight (1 no.)I have an MBA from the London Business School and a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey. When not working in renewables I am busy looking after my family of seven, working out in the garden or watching Fulham at Craven Cottage or England at Twickenham.
