ABOUT RICHARD MAKRA
I am an executive commercial and strategic leader with 15+ years of experience in the battery and energy storage industry, including 13 years in senior commercial roles delivering complex (BESS) solutions across global markets.I specialise in enabling organisations to unlock the full value of energy storage. Driving cost savings, releasing grid capacity, supporting renewable integration, and accelerating on site electrification such as EV charging. Many of the projects I have led also generate long term value through participation in grid and ancillary service markets.Alongside commercial leadership, I bring deep expertise in global procurement, category strategy, and supplier partnerships, working closely with the world’s leading BESS OEMs and system integrators to successfully deploy large scale storage projects.With extensive experience in end-to-end project management, I have managed the full lifecycle of BESS developments from early stage feasibility and commercial structuring through to deployment, installation, commissioning, final handover, de-commissioning and recycling of the BESS. I am passionate about accelerating the energy transition through scalable, resilient storage solutions and solving complex projects and system deployments.
