ABOUT RICHARD MADDICKS

Completion of doctoral training in clinical psychology in 1996 was soon followed by the Institute of Psychiatry Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology in My clinical role across NHS and independent settings has since been guided by an enduring interest in further developing knowledge and skills working with clients with neurological injury and illness. In 2005 I established Psychology Chartered Ltd (psychologychartered.co.uk), a business combining clinical expertise with adminstrative support to provide psychological expertise outside of the NHS. The development of the business reflects the demand for psychological services that are responsive to a diverse range of clinical conditions and referrers needs. Whilst I have undertaken expert witness work for over 20 years, I remain committed to balancing this with therapeutic experiences and ongoing professional development; I feel strongly that this breadth is essential for psychological practice. More recently, establishing a new service dedicated to training other professionals and providers (psychologycharteredtraining.co.uk) has provided a reminder of how gratifying teaching and training others can be.
