In my role as Workforce Development & Stakeholder Liaison with ManuCan, I oversee the coordination and implementation of a province-wide engagement strategy designed to strengthen Ontario’s manufacturing workforce ecosystem. With over Ontarians employed in manufacturing and manufacturing firms across the province, this initiative supports the alignment of workforce development efforts with the sector’s evolving labour market needs.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute targeted strategies to increase candidate traffic and job applications through ManuCan.ca, Ontario’s manufacturing employment platform.Facilitate partnerships with employers, sector associations, and workforce development agencies to expand recruitment capacity and sector visibility.Engage with government bodies, economic development organizations, and settlement agencies to promote equitable access to manufacturing careers, particularly for newcomers, apprentices, and underrepresented groups.Strengthen employer engagement through advisory initiatives, collaborative events, and data-driven insights to improve the quality and volume of job postings.Coordinate multi-stakeholder communication and policy alignment to advance workforce sustainability and sector competitiveness.Primary Stakeholder Groups:Job Seekers: Skilled trades professionals, apprentices, students, and newcomers.Industry Associations & Training Providers: Sector councils, educational institutions, and community-based workforce partners.Government & Support Agencies: Workforce planning boards, immigration and settlement services, and regional economic development programs.JOB SEEKERS IN Manufacturing and Skilled Trades
