I am lead geotechnical engineer on a number of Environment Agency projects on the Collaborative Delivery Framework for Hub D. I lead a team of engineers, technicians and industrial placement students delivering work on assessing, reconditioning and improving flood defence embankments. I am also project manager for ground engineering projects assessing and reconditioning flood embankments.I have particular experience in - Earthworks design, specification and monitoring- Ground investigation design, specification and monitoring including contract management- Pile design, specification and monitoring- Slope stability analysis- Strengthened earthworks design- Seismic hazard assessment Project Management experience with NEC4 PSC.I also have experience in soil and rock description and deliver internal training to ground engineering skills network on soil and rock description to BS 5930:2015.

ABOUT RICHARD HOSKER
I am a Principal Geotechnical engineer within a civil engineering consultancy, where I manage and lead a team of eight talented ground engineers with expertise in geotechnical engineering, geology, and earthworks modelling. I have a broad range of experience spanning the initial site assessment phase through to site survey and construction. My diverse skill set covers most aspects of ground engineering, including desk study assessment, ground investigation, geotechnical assessment and design, and contaminated land assessment and remediation. I have worked on building, highways, rail, and water engineering schemes.Over the last five years at Arup, I have been the lead geotechnical engineer on numerous Environment Agency framework projects within the Midlands. I have managed the geotechnical input on a series of schemes, primarily focused in the Lincs and Northants Area, where I have developed a specialism in managing ground-related risk associated with legacy flood embankments within the Fens. I played an integral role in delivering flood recovery works following flooding in 2019 and 2023/24.I have recently transitioned into a project management and design manager role on EA schemes, successfully delivering interdisciplinary projects within the water sector.
