To identify, assess and provide targeted support to high risk learners with diagnosed learning and complex behavioural support needs, working with a multitude of front line services. The Behaviour Specialist equally important role is offering consultation and support to the curriculum areas across the college. This involves a level of support and training analysis working with Lecturers, Faculty Area Managers and Heads of Schools. The Specialist role explores various interventions with at risk learners and coordinates internal support systems (such as Achievement Coaches and Additional Learner Support ) to support high risk learners across the college. Other facets of work includes the following:1. Delivery of staff training ( i.e. Behaviour Management, Disciplinary Procedures, Effective Learner Engagement).2. Develop resources that can be utilised by Lecturers to engage learners at risk and to deliver targeted workshops relating to social based issues in curriculum areas responding to high risk concerns.3. Coaching and mentoring teaching staff to meet Continued Professional Development and key performance indicators as part of lesson observations (in relation to Behaviour Management and learner engagement).4. Analysis of data and provide stakeholder feedback to demonstrate impact of behavioural specialist support / interventions upon learner experience and across Faculty areas.5. Assist policy development in relation to behaviour management, disciplinary protocols and working with at risks groups. Establish and work in Multi Agency Partnerships to effectively provide supportive interventions in complex case management relating to high risk learners.
