As proprietor and MD of Rayden Engineering Ltd, an East Midlands-based Mechanical and Civil Engineering Business, I’ve played a pivotal role in driving the company\'s success for over 40 years. Initially established in August 1979, as a fabrication and welding Business serving the gas industry, we became fully incorporated in 1996. We are a family run Business, and I lead the company alongside my son Brendan.During my time as MD, with the help of my team, I’ve strategically transformed Rayden Engineering Ltd into a high growth and multi-disciplined business. Under my guidance, Rayden Engineering Ltd has become a well-respected, trusted, and leading provider of industrial services for a diverse range of sectors. Working with some of the biggest “Blue-Chip” names in the industry – both in the UK and worldwide – we’ve excelled in the Oil & Gas sectors, carrying out many large, complex, double digit, multi-million-pound projects for: British Gas/National Gas Transmission, SGN, NGN, Cadent Gas, Uniper, BPA, OPA/CLH/EXOLUM, Total (UK), Shell Oil, Valero and EPUKI – to name a few. As MD, I oversee and manage company operations and strategic direction, ensuring we have a clear vision, plan and goals that result in continued year-on-year growth and expansion with continual reinvestment back into the Business, our People and Equipment. A veteran of the industry, I have built up an extensive knowledge pool that I share across the Business. This has fostered a positive working environment and helped build a very loyal, dedicated and highly skilled workforce. ABOUT RICHARD HAYDEN
I am Managing Director (MD) and proprietor of Rayden Engineering Ltd, a Mechanical & Civil Engineering business I set up 44 years ago back in August 1979. We are a multi-faceted Company and leading provider of turnkey solutions, primarily for the Gas, Oil, Petrochemical, Power & Water industries. Originally from Kilkenny in Southern Ireland, I temporarily transferred to England (Seaton Carew Nuclear Power Station) in 1976. My career started as an apprentice Blacksmith / Boilermaker working for R O’Driscoll, learning on the job for 5 years before moving on to work in a Shipyard as a welder and then working for various industrial service providers throughout Ireland, the UK & overseas. I have worked in many environments from: a Smithy, Shipyards, Power Stations, Oil Refineries, Steelworks, Breweries, Petrochemical Works, Off-shore Modules and on various Above Ground Installations (AGIs) & Cross-country Pipelines. This enabled me to hone my skills and craft as a Pipefitter, Fabricator-Welder & Hot-Tapping specialist, providing me with invaluable experience that has prepared me well for future life with Rayden Engineering Ltd.At a very early stage in my journey, I saw an opportunity to provide high quality steel fabrication and welding services to the Gas industry. As a result, I took the bold move in 1979 to set up my own business - Rayden Engineering - to help fulfil this need. Over the past 4 decades I have been at the helm of operations, steering the Company to ensure our continued growth and success. I am extremely proud of what we have built over the years, creating a highly successful business, from humble beginnings, and developing it into a market leading multi-million-pound operation. Today, Rayden Engineering Ltd specialises in the design, fabrication, construction / installation & maintenance of high-pressure steel pipelines, AGIs, major Mechanical, Civils & associated works. As a family run business, I lead the company alongside my son Brendan. A veteran of the industry, I enjoy nothing more than passing on my vast experience and knowledge to help develop the team and assist with any complex projects.Outside of work I’m a keen golfer, a member of Beeston Fields Golf Club and the Nottingham Irish Golf Society. I try to play at least once a week and regularly take part in fundraising events to help raise money for some fabulous causes such as Kidney Research and Motor Neurons Disease. A sports lover and I guess proud of my Irish heritage; I follow all major sporting events (GAA) in my homeland.
