Until recently, he was the CTO of Lam Research. In going from near bankruptcy in June 1998 to a Fortune 500 company today, Lam transformed itself into a values-driven company and Gottscho was instrumental in that transformation. His teams contributed to the company’s success by regularly introducing new capabilities and products, gaining market share and increasing profitability. He is experienced in leading teams successfully through ambiguity at the “fuzzy front end” of R&D to the “drudgery” of making it work in high volume production. As CTO, he focused on creating industry disruptions in lithography and process development.
