WORK HISTORY

Project Manager @Veritas Marine Qatar

I am spearheading the creation of a Marine Logistics Manual for the North Caspian Operating Company. This involves assessing logistics systems to effectively mobilize marine assets and excavation equipment for the Emergency Pipe Repair System (EPRS) in Kazakhstan\'s challenging shallow water and swamp land environments. My work is crucial for ensuring operational capability while respecting sensitive ecosystems through seasonal extremes.

ABOUT RICHARD ERVINE

Marine Consultant with 40+ years of offshore and maritime oil & gas experience, supporting vessel owners, charterers and national oil companies across the GCC / MENA and Southeast Asia.I operate primarily in independent advisory, owner’s representative and marine assurance roles, bringing practical, operator level judgement to complex decisions around vessel readiness, pre hire acceptance, SPS/drydock programs, reactivation and mobilisation. My background includes senior seagoing and offshore leadership as a Chief Engineer Class 1 and Offshore Installation Manager (OIM), followed by extensive owner’s team and project roles across jack ups, semi-subs, drillships, DSVs, liftboats, Accommodation Service Vessels (ASV) & Work Barges (AWB) and Dynamic Positioning (DP2/DP3) offshore support vessels. This allows me to bridge the gap between what is written in procedures and what actually works offshore or in the shipyard.Typical engagements include:• Marine assurance & vetting (Aramco aligned pre hire / POHI, OOK & in Kingdom acceptance, findings closure)• Owner’s representative / vessel interface management - vessel/rig operations & compliance• SPS, drydock & major maintenance programs (owners team planning, shipyard oversight, OEM & class coordination)• Reactivation, preservation break out & mobilisation• FEED / EPC / EPCIC technical review and project supportI am comfortable acting as the single technical interface between owners, shipyards, OEMs, classification societies and charterers, with a strong focus on risk reduction, schedule certainty, cost control to company technical framework and regulatory compliance.I work internationally, independently or embedded within client teams, and am particularly effective in high expectation environments such as Saudi Aramco and regional NOCs. Based in SE Asia | Available worldwide Open to consulting, contract and advisory discussions
