About Richard D. Beougher

Richard Beougher is the Regional Security Director in Texas for HCA Healthcare, where with a focus on high-risk facilities, he oversees and assists facilities in all facets of the physical security program, including staffing, assessments, technology, training, and investigations. By partnering with hospital and divisional leadership teams, the goal is to help create consistency across all HCA Texas physical security initiatives and programs to help ensure the security and safety of patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and contractors. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare in 2023, Beougher worked for HSS Security for more than 18 years, where he served in a variety of leadership roles, including Security Manager, Assistant Director of Operations, Regional Director of Operations, Associate Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Operations, and Vice President of Operational Excellence. Before joining HSS in 2004, Beougher was a Police Officer in Deming, New Mexico, attaining the rank of Detective Lieutenant. Other law enforcement assignments included Border Drug Interdiction Officer, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team member, and Gang/Narcotics Investigator. All told, Beougher has over 35 years of private security and law enforcement experience and more than 20 years management experience in law enforcement and security. He is a U.S. Army veteran. Beougher is board certified in security management, holding the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from ASIS International. He also earned the Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) certification through the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) and has a Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) certification from the International Board for Certification Services and Management (IBFCSM). Beougher is a graduate of the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Fe and the U.S.D.O.J. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Drug Unit Commander\'s Academy in Quantico, VA. He has Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminal Justice and a Master of Business Administration degree, with a focus in Health Care Management, from Columbia Southern University. Although a Colorado native, Beougher and his family, including three adult daughters, reside in Texas. A history buff, Beougher and his family enjoy visiting national historical sites, as well as participating in a variety of outdoor recreation activities, including equestrian sports with his quarter horse Tilly.
