About Richard Corbett

Richard is in his thirty-first year with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office currently serving as Court Liaison and on the Board of Trustees of the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Pension & Relief Fund. Formerly, he was Director of both our Regional Training Academy and Sheriff’s Safety Town.In further service to our community, Richard is a Past-President of the Bossier City Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award recipient. He’s a Past-President of the Rotary Club of South Shreveport, a Past-Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6190 (North Louisiana), and a Paul Harris Fellowship Award recipient. He’s a charter member and Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Southern Hills, a Past-Lt. Governor for Kiwanis Division 9 (Northwest Louisiana), and a Walter Zeller Fellowship Award recipient. He’s a Past-President of the Southern Hills Business Association, a Past-President of the Galvez Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and he serves as a Board Member for Shreveport Green.Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from Centenary College. In 1996, he graduated from the Northwest Louisiana Regional Law Enforcement Academy where he was named “Distinguished Graduate” of his class and received the “Firearms Award.” In 2009, he was named a “40-Under-40” honoree, and in 2010, he successfully completed the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Shreveport Program.” In 2011, he was named the Kiwanis Club of Shreveport’s “Lawman of the Year.” In 2015, he was named “Louisiana Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” for 40/8 (La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux). In 2017, he was awarded both the “Law Enforcement Medal” and the “Meritorious Service Medal” by the Sons of the American Revolution. And in 2019, he was named the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association’s “Deputy Sheriff of the Year.”
