Role within the newly established, Aberdeen based, “Offshore Wind Operations and Maintenance Global Centre of Excellence”. Role supports BP’s move into offshore wind developments aiming to integrate corporate knowledge from onshore wind operations, offshore asset operation and project operations, as well as looking at external best practices.Key accountabilities- Providing O&M input to front-end projects, developing operating model and high-level O&M philosophy- Ensuring that operations requirements are defined and built into the project statement of requirements and execution plans contributing to engineering efficiency, reliability, maximising life cycle value andsafety in design- Providing operations reviews of project technical documentation- Participating in technology assessments and readiness reviews for wind turbine technology- Developing the operations and maintenance philosophy for projects including contracting strategies,logistics, condition based maintenance strategy, maintenance management, spare parts, staffing etc- Developing the operations readiness plan for projects, authoring where required- Developing OPEX and availability estimates- Facilitate development of project operational processes and procedures ensuring compliance with local regulations and legislation- Adapting BP’s project operations processes and guidelines to support offshore wind projects.

ABOUT RICHARD COPSEY
A Chartered Chemical Engineer (MIChemE) with experience in Wells, Operations and Projects across process safety and operations disciplines.In addition to strong technical capability in core Process Safety engineering, including being a BP UEC approved HAZOP leader, I have developed a broader understanding of Process Safety Management through incident investigation, developing and commenting on engineering practices, developing and delivering training and facility audits/verification.I have also served in an offshore site leadership role and, along with my back to back, provided site leadership on the risk management, production levers and vulnerability processes for BP’s offshore ETAP facility.Most recently I have gained offshore wind experience supporting the M3 programme. As part of this I have lead the control centre design, evaluated offshore vessel charging technology, supported delivery of the Operational readiness plan and influenced the engineering design.
