About Richard Cook

I have been with Rockwell Collins now Collins Aerospace since 2002. Starting off in the Coralville facility, then entering GS Engineering as a Sr. Lab Assistant in one of our Cedar Rapids facilities for nearly 5 years. I also have experience as an IE Tech and am also a Certified Quality Assurance Inspector. Next, I worked for the Design Assurance Center at Rockwell as a Hardware Conformity Technician, working closely with qualification & certification testing and root cause & corrective action in Environmental Effects Engineering. Following my role as Conformity Technician at Rockwell I became an Information Systems Security Specialist. My focus was Coordinating and monitoring sensitive aspects of the Department of Defense (DoD) and National Security Agency (NSA) or other industrial security program, ensuring compliance with government and Company security policies and procedures and all appropriate local, state and federal laws. Currently I am a Technical Support Manager. Responsible for the oversight of daily operations of the unit. Assists or provides guidance through direct supervision of nonexempt and entry-level exempt employees. Responsible for execution and implementation of facility plans, lab design, and capital acquisition plans. Develops and administers schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Responsible for workforce planning to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Oversees selection of future employees, development (training), and performance management.My personal passion includes coaching sports of all kinds to all ages! I have been a High School Football coach for 15 seasons and Junior League Football coach for 4. I have also coached Junior League Soccer for 4 seasons and Junior League Basketball for 3. I have also completed my MBA at Mt Mercy University in Business Management and a double major in Business and Human Resource Management. Continually teaching, coaching and learning myself!
