SKILLS
ABOUT RICHARD COCKIN
A mixed health care background being a trained Nurse and registered Paramedic with experience in primary care, pre hospital emergency care and critical care alongside five years of teaching as a Resuscitation Officer. Since 2015 I have managed various ambulance stations whilst leading and developing staff as an Operations Officer in Somerset and Devon. This role provides amongst a multitude of skills, on scene operational command at significant incidents, and has also allowed me to work at a Tactical level, holding a position on the Trust\'s tactical rota for around a year. Most recently this has given me the opportunity to complete several secondments to support service delivery during some incredibly trying times. During the Covid-19 pandemic I built and operated the Trust\'s swabbing and contact tracing service, managing over 23k contacts, building relationships in areas the ambulance service traditionally didn\'t tread. I operated as a Clinical Safety Manager in Ambulance Control during the past winter which saw waiting calls break records on a daily basis. I am currently seconded to NHS Devon as a Delivery and Improvement Lead, an NHSE mandated role providing support to and tactical oversight of the Devon Integrated Care System
