During 40 years of practice as a divorce and family lawyer, I have helped many families through their difficult separation. This has included mediation, court appearances, trials, and negotiated settlements - resolving contentious disputes about children, support, and property division. I strive to secure reasonable terms for my client when possible, and court ordered relief when necessary. I am sensitive to the need for child-centred solutions. I have extensive experience drafting cohabitation, marriage and separation agreements.Acting as an advisor on wills and estates has allowed me to draft wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements, and trust agreements, ranging from simple to complex. I have secured orders under the Patients Property Act where no POA exists. I have assisted executors in obtaining probate and administering estates in a timely manner, including representation of most trust companies operating in BC. I have also handled disputes surrounding the capacity of the will-maker and proceedings to cure, interpret or vary a will under WESA.I greatly enjoy working in White Rock and being part of the Cleveland Doan law group.
