About Richard Chow
Richard is focused on opportunities that foster a sustainable future. He was part of the early generation of founders and entrepreneurs that were drawn to the potential of alternative energy. He helped establish EnergyWorks, a Bechtel Enterprises / PacifiCorp joint venture, that developed on-site cogeneration and renewable energy projects. He transitioned to the biofuels sector, serving as President for US Biodiesel Group and leading the sale to Renewable Energy Group (REG is now owned by Chevron). Richard was appointed as the President & CEO of ThermaSource, a geothermal company backed by Riverstone Holdings, the Carlyle Group, and the US Renewables Group. He founded Ridge Energy, after leading a management buyout of select ThermaSource assets. Ridge Energy was sold to Iceland Drilling. Richard was named a 2017 Distinguished Career Institute (DCI) Fellow at Stanford University, As a DCI Fellow, he helped establish LeadX, a leadership program for Stanford graduate students. He became and continues to serve as an Advisor to the TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy. Richard is committed to developing the next generation of leaders focused on sustainability, serving as a coach to several C-suite executives in the energy/sustainability arena. Richard is an advisor to both Inclusive Capital and the WovenEarth Fund. He has served on both public & private company boards. Since 2008, he has been on the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund.
