Responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant Human Resources policies, procedures, and best practices as well as identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. Key areas of focus include employee relations, compensation, staffing, performance management, labor relations, organizational development, change management and safety. Fosters employee involvement at all levels. Key duties include:• Providing effective leadership and supervision for HR Staff consisting of Directors, Regional HR Managers, HR Managers, HR Generalists, Occupational Nurses and various administrative personnel• Foster pro-active employee relations, communication support, management consultation and ongoing internal education programs• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements for assigned Union locations in the United States and Canada• Analysis and guidance related to Mergers & Acquisitions activity• Administration and development of policies and procedures encompassing training, recruitment, employee relations, retention, safety, employee development and discipline• Ensure effective administration of corporate compensation, benefit, insurance, unemployment and worker’s compensation programs• The development and implementation of strategic business goals and objectives that help ensure profitability and employee satisfaction
