About Richard Campbell

I am an experienced transportation structural engineer. I have devoted the last 40 years enhancing my skills as a leader and innovator for the structural design of bridges and ancillary structures for private and public projects in the State of California. Growing up on a grain farm created a thirst for knowledge. I started in maintenance of way on the Canadian Pacific RR. After receiving a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Techology I spent 4 years as a mechanical designer in the office and field. While with Fluor I developed an interest in structures which led to 4 more years at CSU Long Beach. I was lucky to be hired by a great engineering firm in 1985 doing flood control structures. My first bridges were at John Wayne Airport in 1987 and I have been passionate about bridge design ever since.
