ABOUT RICHARD BURTON

Over 25 years experience in the Oil and Gas/drilling industry.A very pro-active, hands-on and flexible person in the work environment. I have a good work ethic with the ability to communicate at all levels.With good inter personal and communication skills with all nationalities I am comfortable working in a team on design, checking others work or out in the field. Willing to learn new technology and improve my own capabilities at every opportunity. Excellent skills on Autocad 2D and 3D I have also worked for a year on PDMS (Piping) and completed an Inventor course.• I have carried out extensive surveys and integrity inspections on and offshore, primarily on drilling rigs (UK and Norwegian) but also on offshore platforms, FPSO’s and vessels worldwide gathering and collating information and producing layouts and 3D models on site for further development back at base.• I can work on minimum input and liaise well with all personnel to develop ideas and concepts.• Extensive experience in structural and piping design.• I communicate well with Clients at all levels and all nationalities, while working to the relevant current specifications and codes. • As a Senior Designer checking has often been part of my remit.• I encourage younger Designers to become more pro-active and providing guidance when necessary.• Supervising construction teams on installations of the equipment on vessels and rigs, maintaining good working relationships with clients and ensuring their satisfaction.• Physically fit and a triathlon and swim coach, I enjoy Mountain Biking, cycling, running and swimming and encouraging others to get fit.
