After 34 years as a designer, electrical technician, and plant electrical supervisor in the petrochemical power system the recent downturn has me looking for a new opportunity. Of the 34 years, 13 years of my experience was working in construction and maintainers of electrical equipment and electrical systems. In this time frame I worked on installation and trouble shooting of the electrical system.The remaining 21+ years I spent with Fluor working on projects with local, national and international codes and Owner company specifications to insure that the electrical design complies with the client company’s intent. One of my responsibilities was understanding vendor data and visiting vendor shops to inspect and witness testing of purchased equipment to insure the manufacturer met the requirements laid out in the purchase specification and drawings.I am skilled in the design and drafting of one-lines, motor elementary, wiring diagrams, variable frequency drives motor elementary and wiring diagrams, grounding, underground power distribution, cable tray and lighting layout. And as an electrical technician I performed field surveys and trouble-shooting power and control systems. I am well versed in 138kV to 480VAC switchgear, 5kV to 480VAC motor controls and variable frequency drives. My 13 years of Petro-Chemical and Co-Gen field experience as an electrical technician and supervisor working in construction and maintenance gives me the advantage of knowing how the equipment is applied in the field. My responsibility with Fluor including critical path planning, project follow-up, and field procurement taught me how critical it is to set the inspection test plan and follow it.
