ABOUT RICHARD BILODEAU
Richard is the Director General of the Financial Institutions Division in the Department of Finance responsible for providing advice on financial institutions policy, including on transactions, governance, financial services trade, insurance, framework policy and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining the Department, Richard was the Managing Director of Supervision and Promotion of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada overseeing compliance with the federal financial consumer protection framework. Richard also spent 15 years with the Competition Bureau of Canada where he managed complex enforcement matters and contributed to major legislative and policy initiatives. Richard holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa.
