ABOUT RICHARD BATTERSBY
I am a Senior Partner in EY\'s Financial Services Strategy and Transactions practice (Partner since 2009) with over 25 years experience working on transactions with corporate and private equity clients in the Financials Services sector across numerous international markets. I lead EY\'s focus from EMEIA on transactions in the Global Specialty (Re) Insurance sector, as well as focusing on transaction activity across the wider non-Life personal and commercial lines, general insurance broking, Wealth Management, Life insurance and distribution, and support services to the insurance sector. I lead engagements on both buy and sell side, as well as wider strategy reviews, for both Corporate and Private Equity clients, and I am the EMEIA Client Service Partner and/or Strategy & Transactions lead partner for a number of EY\'s major Insurance clients. I have led EY\'s UK and EMEIA Financial Services Transactions & Corporate Finance business (including Transaction Diligence, M&A and Valuations), I have been Talent and D&I Leader and a member of the Leadership Team for EY\'s Financial Services Strategy & Transactions business across the UK and EMEIA. I have also been a Partner voted member of EY\'s Partner Forum, part of our Corporate Governance and framework representing the wider Partnership alongside the UK and EMEIA leadership teams. I am passionate about ensuring our people maximise their potential and achieve an enjoyable and rewarding career with EY and beyond, and that we provide a diverse and inclusive environment for our staff and service for our client. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England & Wales in 1995 (now FCA), having started my career in audit.
