ABOUT RICHARD BARLOW
I have worked in Architecture since leaving school in 1984 starting my career in a small Architects Practice (Pickles Architects) in my hometown of Brighouse. The partner and lead Architectural Technician there took a keen interest in developing my knowledge and skill and during my first nine years in the profession I gained a wealth of experience on a wide variety of projects.Since leaving Pickles Architects in 1993 I have worked with practices on much larger scale projects (£2million to £40million) which include- Waste Treatment Facilities- Secondary schools- Higher education facilities- Offices- Hotel and Leisure- Hospitals- Residential- Mixed Use- EtcI have also been developing my CAD skill since 1993 working with Arkey, AutoCAD and more recently Revit Architecture.I am now considered as a BIM/Revit expert and advise on a number of Atkins forums in this area.In 2019 I was promoted to the Regional BIM Manager to the Atkins Building Design business for Architecture, Landscape and Masterplanning in the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland.I have also been acting as an Information Manager for a number of DfE schools and Aberdeen City Councils Housing Program projects.In March 2022, I accepted a new position, within Atkins Building Design, as a National Information Manager.
