ABOUT RICHARD ALLISON
ACA qualified audit and assurance senior manager, with ten years\' experience working in practice with a variety of clients ranging from smaller owner managed businesses to large listed organisations, reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS, as well auditing to UK ISA standards. Previously also supported on US GAAP and PCAOB standard audit clients.I have managed multiple teams ranging from small teams of 2-3 staff to larger teams of 15-20, reporting direct to the signing director or partner, and also co-ordinating group projects across multiple countries and offices, as well as liaising with various experts and other service line specialists.I have supported clients in retail, manufacturing, media, construction, utilities, consumer and industrial products, specialising in consolidation, and also a keen eye for technical knowledge, with significant practical applications of dealing with the newer standards. My experience is in both substantive and controls based audits, including previously having tested under both US-SOX and J-SOX regulations.Acts as internal professional standards reviewer to ensure compliance with firm standards and internal policies and procedures, as well as recognised accounting and audit standards, and internal practice reviewer supporting the internal audit quality team.As well as doing the \'day job\' of being an audit Senior Manager, I have supported clients through transactions such as acquisition or going through an IPO. In addition to this, I have also taken a hands-on role in the office leading from a People perspective, dealing with recruitment, including interviewing, to onboarding when joining, facilitating training to share my technical and soft skill knowledge to more junior colleagues, as well overseeing the year end staff appraisal process. I also act as a counselling manager and mentor for various individuals, offering tips and advice to support their career development, and oversaw the wider counselling network within the department.
