Provide technical support for asset management of the company underground gas storage fields, wellheads, pipelines, separation equipment and associated processing systems within the Gas Asset Management Department. The department is responsible for the development, engineering, and implementation of projects to increase safety, improve system performance, deliverability, equipment reliability, and adherence to regulatory compliance. Consumers Energy has 15 underground gas storage fields with approximately 950 wells statewide in Michigan. Working gas capacity is 150 BCF and maximum deliverability is 4200 MMcf/d. Consumers Energy provides natural gas and electricity to 6.8 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.Key aspects of the position are: storage integrity management plan, risk management and risk model, PHMSA compliance per 49 CFR part 192, well rehabilitation program and strategic storage field planning. Also interact with Transmission and Distribution on company-wide Risk Analysis methodology and Gas Safety Management System.
