ABOUT RICH AMIES

I am a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the energy sector, now focused on performance, transformation, and innovation leadership.In my current role as Performance & Continuous Improvement Lead, I connect strategy with execution — overseeing the Business Performance Scorecard, shaping strategic projects, and embedding continuous improvement and Lean practices across the organisation. Alongside this, I champion innovation through initiatives such as Booster ABZ and my work as UK Innovation Correspondent.My career has spanned engineering, operations, digital transformation, and governance of change, giving me a broad perspective on how organisations deliver value, manage risk, and adapt to new challenges. I’m passionate about enabling people to work smarter, building cultures of collaboration, and ensuring performance improvement delivers real impact.Beyond my professional role, I have volunteered with The Scouts for over 15 years in a variety of leadership positions, most recently recognised with the Chief Scout’s 15 Years’ Service Award. Volunteering has been a source of leadership development, governance experience, and lasting friendships, while giving me the chance to help young people build confidence and skills for life.In parallel, I am looking for opportunities to contribute at board level, particularly around governance, risk oversight, sustainability (ESG), and innovation. My aim is to bring technical credibility, transformation expertise, and people-centred leadership to boards that are navigating complexity and planning for the future.
