Partner in the Restructuring, Insolvency, Finance and Public Policy practice at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Senior practitioner with dual degrees in law and public policy and a wealth of experience accumulated over a decade, spanning legal practice, salient legislative and regulatory reform and high-level bilateral negotiations. Served on several government committees on financial sector reform, most recently heading a team that conceptualized, drafted and implemented the corporate insolvency provisions of India’s Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, a flagship reform. Advised India’s financial services regulator and securities regulator. Represented sovereign wealth funds, banks and financial institutions on a range of complex investment and international finance transactions, drafting and negotiating deal documentation. Advised extensively on financial integrity- cross-border anti-corruption, anti money laundering and fraud. Published widely on banking reform, insolvency reform, trade and anti corruption. Headed the legal team advising on the international expansion of a large, dynamic private sector bank.
