ABOUT RICHA GHATWAI

Having always been passionate about Visual Effects, it was no surprise to me that even after graduating as an IT Engineer and working as a UI/UX developer, I still continued to gravitate towards the art of movie-making. The decision to pursue a career in VFX was possibly one of the best decisions I ever made. This field is such a good fit for me in that it is a perfect combination of art and technology, two things that have always piqued my interest. Beginning with a 3D and Compositing course (in India) and then continuing on to Canada at Campus d\'Effets Visuals | Lost Boys - Montreal, I had the opportunity to explore various aspects of this profession such as lighting, colour, depth-of-field and how all of those things contributed towards creating an illusion that we get to immerse ourselves in. Although my past experience as an Engineer seems to be something I did a long time ago, it continues to play a role in my development as an artist. Compositing relies heavily on problem-solving, critical thinking and analysis and I have no doubt that my past experiences have helped me immensely in my day-to-day activities. My experience at Lost Boys has allowed me to work in a studio-like environment and to gain the in-depth knowledge required to be an effective Compositor and Roto/Prep Artist.
