I often wear a Mayo Clinic trucker hat around town.Yes, the hat looks dynamite, but that’s not the main reason I wear it. I wear the hat because I’m proud to work for Mayo Clinic. Considering I live in Michigan, far from any Mayo Clinic campus, it’s surprising how often someone comments when they recognize our logo.What’s not surprising is that these comments are uniformly positive.I’ve been in development communications for 12 years, where I have built on the skills I acquired during my time as a newspaper reporter to help secure seven- and eight-figure gifts in support of healthcare and higher education. I’ve been with Mayo Clinic since 2022 and am part of an outstanding Development Communications team. My work includes proposal, one-pagers, presentations, magazine stories and much more. Whatever the assignment, I’m excited to take it on, because I know that it will help accelerate the transformation of healthcare and meet the needs of patients around the world.
