Focused at the intersection of policy, politics, and the real world, I use the tools of advocacy and strategic communications to achieve regulatory, legislative, funding, and business goals for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to top 20 U.S. cities to global non-profits. These days I am spending much of my time on political risk management for C-suites of major companies. Substantive policy experience in all areas of environmental regulation, transportation, water and flood infrastructure development, energy, tax and trade. Substantial expertise in coalition development and management, lobbying, regulatory advocacy and compliance, congressional investigations, traditional and social media, grasstops advocacy, and strategy development, implementation and integration. Focused now on IRA implementation and attendant decarbonization funding opportunities. Founder of one of the best public policy teams in Washington DC with some of the most creative lawyers and policy advocates in the country. When not otherwise occupied, usually with Maria, Chelsea, Sofia, Max and William and my 4 grandchildren. Devotee of great white sharks, the Grateful Dead, Bill Murray, the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, vintage wood boats, Toyota Land Cruisers, and vintage watches.
