As General Counsel and Secretary of the Research Foundation for SUNY, I have the privilege of serving the nation’s largest university-connected research foundation and its mission to support SUNY’s discovery, innovation, economic development, and public service across New York and beyond.Over the past 17 years at the RF, I’ve had the opportunity to advise on nearly every facet of university research and sponsored programs, intellectual property management, governance, employment, compliance, litigation, partnerships, and more. I’ve also been fortunate to help build a strong, collaborative legal team dedicated to providing practical, solutions-oriented counsel to campuses and researchers in collaboration with my great colleagues at SUNY. In my time at the RF, I’ve served in several leadership capacities—including Interim General Counsel and Interim Vice President for Industry and External Affairs—where I oversaw SUNY’s intellectual property and industry engagement portfolios, and Interim Chief Compliance Officer.
